Ultraplan

Advanced feature of claude-code that enables hybrid local-cloud planning workflows. Users can initiate planning tasks from their local CLI and have Claude draft detailed plans in the cloud while maintaining terminal availability for other work.

Core Workflow

1. Initiation from CLI

Three methods to launch ultraplan:

• Command: /ultraplan followed by planning prompt
• Keyword: Include "ultraplan" anywhere in normal prompt
• From local plan: Send existing local plan to cloud for refinement

2. Cloud Drafting Phase

• Claude researches codebase remotely in cloud environment
• Local terminal shows status indicators while remaining available
• Remote session runs in user's default cloud environment
• Automatic cloud environment creation if none exists

3. Review and Refinement

Browser-based review interface provides:

• Inline comments: Target feedback on specific plan sections
• Emoji reactions: Quick approval/concern signals
• Outline sidebar: Section-based navigation
• Iterative revision: Multiple refinement cycles before execution

4. Execution Choice

Two execution paths:

• Cloud execution: Implementation in same cloud session with PR creation
• Terminal execution: Plan sent back to local CLI for implementation

Technical Requirements

Prerequisites

• Claude Code v2.1.91 or later
• Claude Code on the web account
• GitHub repository integration
• Anthropic cloud infrastructure access

Limitations

• Not available with Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI, or Microsoft Foundry
• Disconnects Remote Control when active (interface conflict)
• Requires persistent CLI session for terminal execution option
